This is a poem I wrote to poke fun at the watch and wait method, the monotony of appointments, and the promise of another appointment.

Dr. Crow is always in the know,
and running the show.
Ensuring everyone is following the memo:

Make sure to ask patients if they have pooped.
After their shock and embarrassment, regroup.
Ask, “How are you sleeping?”
“Are you eating? Is your weight creeping?”
“Don’t worry, I assure you all this is for recordkeeping.”

Then review the blood tests and make an educated guess.
While assuring the patient of your success,
You shall profess, “We will watch and wait until you regress.”

Your patient may show some slight distress.
Put them at ease and remind them of their progress,
and to book another appointment at the front desk.
