My bones ache
My muscles burn
An unusual hurt
Now, an ordinary burden.
My brain zaps
My body weak
I can’t go on
It makes me weep.
I lay here
Wrapped in fear
That one day
I’ll no longer be here.
No one understands
I fear the end
It’s bleak inside
Yet, I play pretend.
I let them in
They see a glimpse
But never the full truth
For that is hidden within.
