Parenting is hard enough. Add a cancer diagnosis to the mix? That brings unique challenges. We’re here to help with our virtual support groups for parents and caregivers who are going through cancer while raising young children. Join our WEEKLY cohort to connect with other parents.

Who: parents or guardians of young kids going through active cancer treatment or who have recently completed treatment

What: a 6 week support group to talk about the fears, challenges, and successful coping strategies associated with parenting through cancer treatment and early survivorship.

Date(s): Wednesdays, September 18-October 23, 2024

Time: 10am PT/11am MT/12pm CT/1pm ET (sessions are 90 minutes)

All sessions will take place virtually.

Facilitated by Deltra James. Deltra is a single mama to 5 girls who found herself on cancer’s radar at 33 years old despite it not being on hers, due to a lack of knowledge of her family’s medical history. Since receiving a de novo diagnosis of Triple Negative metastatic breast cancer she has cultivated healing through community and advocacy work with a focus on mental/emotional wellness, addressing disparities due to race and income, connecting parents and children to resources to aid in successfully navigating the rocky terrains of the cancer landscape and alleviating death anxiety/practicing death preparedness with patients and their families through her work as a death doula.
