Rekindle & Renew – Sex and Intimacy

Rekindle & Renew – Sex and Intimacy: Virtual Meet Up Group for Couples Facing Cancer

Register here

Date: Thursday, June 20

Time: 5pm PST/6pm MTN/7pm CST/8pm EST

Cancer has a way of inserting itself into your partnership like an unwanted third wheel, nagging you from the backseat while you navigate this new territory. Negotiating new roles and expectations, upended schedules, intense feelings, insecurities, sex and intimacy are all new pit stops along the way. It may feel like none of your couple friends can relate–they have no idea what it’s like to juggle cancer along with the other natural relationship ups and downs. We see you. We have a space for you.

This meet-up group is for couples in their 20s, 30s and 40s who are navigating a cancer diagnosis, whether it is new or years old. Each meeting will have a theme to guide discussion.

This meet-up group is a partnership between Dear Jack Foundation and Bright Spot Network. It is facilitated by Lillian Dugan, LCSW, Director of Programs at Dear Jack Foundation and Carissa Hodgson, LCSW, OSW-C, Director of Programs and Community Outreach at Bright Spot Network.

June 20th Meeting Theme: Sex & Intimacy: We know this can be a tough topic to delve into with strangers, and we also know it is one of the most common concerns couples have. We will focus discussion on how cancer and treatment affect body image, sex, physical connection and emotional intimacy.

Register to receive the Zoom link. If you have questions, email Lillian (lilly@dearjackfoundation.org) or Carissa (carissa@brightspotnetwork.org)
