To Past Me:

On May 5th, 2016 your entire life is going to change. You’re going to get the news that you have cancer, go directly to the hospital, and two weeks later you’ll get released with some daily medication that will save your life. When you’re discharged, you’re going to want things to go back to normal but you will never be the person you were before.


The Overlook

Everything is so green. That’s what I remember thinking on the ride back to my apartment after my hospital stay. Being someone who enjoys spending time outside, two weeks of being stuck inside four white hospital room walls with a window overlooking a city street was pretty much torture, especially after a leukemia diagnosis.


What Never Really Was

Do you ever find yourself longing for some time in the past? An experience that, at the time didn’t seem remarkable or even enjoyable, but looking back all that you remember are the good parts. I started having this feeling recently about the early days of quarantine.

A normal day for me includes waking up and, if I’m feeling especially on top of things, an hour before I need to so I can get in a workout, shower, eat breakfast, do my hair and makeup, get dressed, find the perfect pair of shoes and head to work.
