DESCRIPTION:The LGBTQIA+ Cancer Support Group\nRegister here\nThe Cancer Network is currently running cancer peer-support groups. These are free Zoom peer-support groups for LGBTQIA+ individuals who have or have had cancer. Come hang out, say hi, and talk about cancer, life, LGBTQIA+ issues, or just spring flowers.\nSupport groups are held three times per week:\nMondays from 4:00pm – 5:30pm Eastern time\nWednesdays from 2:30 – 3:30 Eastern Time\nFridays from 1:00pm to 2:30pm Eastern time\n\nWhy It Matters\n\n\nMany LGBTQIA+ individuals who have and have had cancer do not feel welcome or understood in mainstream support groups, and transgender survivors have been specially excluded. There are very few LGBTQIA+ cancer peer support groups across the country, and those individuals who live further from major metropolitan areas are unlikely to find one at all. A study conducted by The Cancer Network confirmed that LGBTQIA+-specific support groups were the top request made by LGBTQIA+ cancer survivors.\n\n
