SUMMARY:Coloring & Coping: An Art Workshop for Parents
DESCRIPTION:Coloring & Coping: An Art Workshop for Parents\nRegister here\nDate: Saturday, May 24\nTime: 9 am PT|10 am MT|11am CT|12 pm ET\nTake a break from the daily grind of parenting with cancer to reflect, unwind and create. This 90 minute therapeutic art workshop is a special opportunity to play with new supplies and techniques to create something as unique as you are.\nUsing unexpected materials and vibrant colors, participants will explore a playful and expressive process that blends spontaneity with reflection. Through layering, texture, and a touch of gold, each person will create a piece that is uniquely their own. This therapeutic art workshop is rooted in the experience of parenting with cancer but you are encouraged to explore whatever is on your mind.\nIn addition to this live art workshop, participants will receive a handout that includes art activities, carefully curated by an art therapist. Each activity is aimed at helping your children to express their feelings and process their questions about cancer. No special art supplies are necessary–you can use whatever you have at home to engage in creative, thoughtful exploration with your children.\nIt’s not about perfection—it’s about expression, connection, and letting color tell your story.\nFrequently Asked Questions\nWho should attend? \nThis workshop is open to all parents with cancer and their partners. No previous art experience necessary! Whether you’re passionate about art or just curious to try something new, please join us.\nDo I have to share?\nNo one has to share! This workshop is for YOU!\nI really want to attend but I’m not positive I can. What do you recommend?\nPlease double-check your calendar that this date and time works for you. We have limited spaces and a special package of supplies to each participant.  If you can’t attend, we’ll be uploading a special handout with art prompts designed especially for parents with cancer as well as prompts to use with your kids.\nAll participants are warmly encouraged to submit their art to Oncology on Canvas ( https://www.looc.lillyoncology.com/ ) a program of Lilly Oncology\nThank you to our workshop sponsor: Lilly Oncology\n
