DESCRIPTION:Winter 2024 Virtual ‘Learning About Cancer’ Program\nRegister here\nThis free 5-Week Winter 2024 Cohort Launches on Sunday, January 28th and takes place every Sunday through February 25th.\nKids and teens in the program build relationships with friends who get them in a safe, supportive, fun environment online. They also learn about cancer in a developmentally appropriate way, an experience that’s proven to decrease stress, anxiety, and worry for kids whose parents or guardians have cancer.\nThese engaging virtual group meetings are interactive, play, and art-based. Kids are mailed all necessary materials!\nMeetings are facilitated by our skilled Youth Facilitators who have backgrounds in child development, education, Child Life, social work, and other youth-focused areas.\nWhen: Sunday, January 28; Sunday, February 4; Sunday, February 11; Sunday, February 18; Sunday, February 25 \nWhere: Virtual (Zoom) from 1:00pm-2:30pm Pacific, 2:00pm-3:30pm Mountain, 3:00pm-4:30pm Central, 4:00pm-5:30pm Eastern\nWho Can Attend: New and existing Pickles youth navigating a parent or guardian’s cancer diagnosis. We serve kids and teens in grades 1-12, ages 6-18. This program is well-suited for youth who would benefit from peer connection and a better understanding of cancer.\nTo register, new families must complete our general enrollment form for each child.
